Producers from Four Generations
The Tenuta Olim Bauda brand was established in 1961, but the union between our family and the world of wine has earlier origins. With the succession of generations, the Bertolino family’s winemaking tradition has been handed down from father to son.
Giovanni Bertolino
Giovanni Bertolino received his license to produce “Wines, Sparkling Wines and Vermouths” in 1927. Originally from Castelnuovo Calcea, he moved to nearby Nizza Monferrato where he founded his new winery. Nizza was then as now considered the “capital” of Barbera.
Agostino Bertolino
His son Agostino left his studies to devote himself to wine production in the immediate post-World War II period and became one of the most important figures on the Piedmontese wine scene. Unfortunately, in 1987 he passed away prematurely, and so the wine-making business was temporarily closed until 1998, when his sons Diana, Gianni and Dino took over.
The Bertolino Siblings
Since 1998, siblings Dino, Diana and Gianni Bertolino with Olim Bauda Estate have been offering superior wines made from the vinification of grapes from small estate crus.

We have chosen to live on our family’s land, to devote ourselves to the vineyards, with attention to detail and respect for the times and ways of nature around us.
